My name is Lauren Yoo and I'm a graduate from the University of California, Irvine. I majored in Computer Science with a specialization in Information Retrieval. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA 🌴.

Previously, I worked at BlackRock(Aladdin), HERE.io, JP Morgan Chase, and at USC Viterbi.

Currently, I'm based in NYC working as a software engineer for Reddit. As a SWE, I want to build new features that people actually use on the daily while utilizing good system design and engineering practices. I'm actively interested in the technology behind our everyday services like credit cards, Netflix, and social media. Fun fact about me is that before pursuing software engineering, I wanted to pursue a career in film production/editing but that passion pivoted to wanting to create the platforms that allow talented people to accomplish amazing things. I'm open to new opportunities that will allow me to build features that will reach large audiences and give me opportunities in leading feature development.

Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, playing golf and tennis, film/movies, fashion, trying the best ice cream in the city, climbing the leaderboard on beli, sketching buildings, car watching, and latte art. On an unprofessional note: my goal as a software engineer is to actively develop features that reach the masses, have an iced americano in hand, and drive my dream car daily in los angeles, ca. this last part was for manifestation :)
